Let me start by saying I LOVE ALL THINGS WALT DISNEY WORLD!!! That being said, this article was a hard one because I love soooooo many of the rides there. Some of them could easily have traded places in the order I placed them (all except number one that is). Walt Disney World has soooooo many different ride experiences that it’s very likely your top rides will be completely different from mine. That’s what makes it the happiest place on earth! There’s something to make everyone happy behind those magical gates! I’d love to hear about your favorite rides in the comments below too. Well alright, buckle up and keep reading to hear all of my absolute favorite rides at Walt Disney World!
5. Living with the Land
I know some of you are saying, “Girl, Bye!!!” But not so fast! Living with Land is such a cool ride! True, it may not get your heart racing like some of my other top five choices, but if you’re a nerd or gardener at heart then you, like me, totally get how this attraction made it into my top five. Every time we come to the section of the ride with the real, live, growing, breathing plants and produce that’s actually used at many of the Disney restaurants you’re eating at, my heart leaps for joy! Seeing all the cool techniques they’re using, and the amazing variety of plants will seriously blow your mind. The added bonus of getting to sit and relax for a while in this cool, dark ride makes this ride even more of a winner in my book! Even my kids look forward to riding this one every time!
4. Expedition Everest
See I told you things would get more exciting! Expedition Everest in Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is a high flying, super-fast, honest to goodness roller coaster. The theming makes you feel like you forgot to pack your mountain climbing gear. Walking through the que you’ll see artifacts from hikers who have braved the mountain in search of the infamous Yeti in years past. Speaking of the Yeti (spoiler alert), if you have little ones it’s a good idea to let them know ahead of time that there is a GINORMOUS Yeti waiting inside this attraction. Insider tip for this ride: it’s ten times more awesome at night!!!
3. Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster
Have you ever been shot out of a cannon like Gonzo the Great? If not, give my number three ride a go and you’ll get some idea of how I imagine that must feel. Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios is not for the faint at hard. It is one of the best thrill rides in all of the parks! It shoots you off at unimaginably high speeds and keeps the same intensity throughout. Be forewarned that there is a camera there to catch your reaction when your limo takes off. Let’s just say mine may have me mouth-wide open screaming for dear life and the sweet strangers in front of me laughing their heads off, lol. If you like super fast fun and amazing music, definitely give this thrill ride a try! It will no doubt make it into your top five list too!
2. Soarin’ Around the World
Just thinking about this ride gives me goosebumps! While I wouldn’t necessary describe Soarin’ as a thrill ride, it is still an indescribable experience that you should not miss. First you’re hoisted high in the air and then you take of soaring around the globe. Enhancing the experience even more are the scents. The scents, oh the wonderful beautiful the scents!!!! Accompanying each land is its own smell. If I could bottle them all up and bring them home with me I would! This attraction does such an amazing job making you feel as if you are actually soaring high in the sky looking down on some of God’s most beautiful creations! It’s an absolute must do every time we go to Walt Disney World!
1. Avatar Flight of Passage
Y’all!!! Y’all!!! I don’t even know where to start with this ride! It is the best ride on the face of the earth ever! Ever! EVER!!!! In all my years I’ve never experienced anything like it. It seriously lived up to every bit of the hype. Exceeded it! The imagineers on this project all deserve a raise and a promotion! They changed the whole game with this one. From the moment you step into the que you are totally immersed. From the pairing with your own personal banshee to the moment you take off and soar through the beautiful skies of Pandora, you literally feel like you are an Avatar! It’s all soooooo exhilarating, thrilling, exciting, and amazing! Disney has come up with some amazing rides and attractions but in my book nothing comes close to the awesomeness that is Avatar Flight of Passage! If you get to go to Walt Disney World and only ride one ride, Avatar Flight of Passage should hands down be the ride you choose!
-Slinky Dog Dash
This fairly new ride could have easily replaced a few in my top five list. It’s one of the most well thought out rides in the park. It just makes you happy from start to finish. There’s no way to ride this ride and not get off smiling! Coasting through the colorful joyous land really does make you feel like you’re in Andy’s backyard. Another thing I love about this ride is that it’s not short! Some of the coasters, especially the ones suitable for the little ones, seem like they’re over before they start, but not Slinky Dog Dash! It’s a nice enjoyable length that totally makes it worth the wait.
-Toy Story Mania
Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun!!!! If you’re competitive like my hubby and I are then this attraction will definitely be one of your favorites! The best way to describe Toy Story Mania is like your favorite carnival game ever amped up by like ten thousand and made into a moving ride! I’m not sure who loves this ride more us or our girlies. You’ll definitely want to do this one more than once when you visit. I promise, like all things Toy Storyland, this ride will just make you happy.
Now if you were born anytime after the 80s, you may be like, ‘Huh?” But if you’re a little older like me, then you can’t help but laugh when you think of Donald Duck and his antics with the Three Caballeros. This ride located in the Mexico Pavilion captures every bit of the hilarity in those cartoons from yesteryear. It’s a nice, inside, cool, dark ride that makes for a fun little break while making your way around the world in Epcot. Even if you’ve never seen the classic Caballeros cartoons this ride is still super cute and super fun.
Well there you have it Disney fam, my absolute favorite rides at Walt Disney World! I’d love to know what your favorites are! Let me know in the comments below!
