Let the countdown and the planning begin! As the opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge draws nearer, Walt Disney World is making plans to ease the congestion of the throngs of fan goers that will flood Hollywood Studios. Starting August 29th and continuing through November 2nd, Walt Disney World will be offering Extra, Extra Magic Hours!
First, What are Extra Magic Hours?
All guests staying in Walt Disney World Resorts and select partner hotels (see below for a list of all participating hotels) are able to enjoy select attractions in one of the parks each day before the park opens or after it closes. Typically one extra hour is added in the morning and two hours in the evening.
So let’s check out which parks and attractions will offer Extra, Extra Magic Hours.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
– Galaxy’s Edge will not have Extra, Extra Magic Hours August 29th-31st. Instead the new land will open at 6:00am for all guests.
– Normal Extra Magic Hours will also continue to be offered on select days at Epcot.
– Don’t forget, unless you have a Park Hopper, you will have to stay at whichever park you enjoy Extra, Extra Magic hours at.
– Valid theme park admission and hotel ID are required for Extra, Extra Magic Hours.

So for all the early risers out there this is great news! Even if you’re not an early riser, this is still great news, because the early birds should all be out of the way by the time you arrive! That’s sounds like a win-win to me!!!
Let us know what you think of Walt Disney World’s announcement to offer extra, extra magic hours at Walt Disney World for the Galaxy’s Edge Opening? Do you plan to take advantage of Extra, Extra Magic Hours or will you check out Galaxy’s Edge during normal park hours? We’d love to hear your strategy!
