We’re back Disney Fam! If you missed the first installment of our countdown to Christmas at Disney series, click here to learn all about Christmas at Epcot this year. This will admittedly be a short and sweet one because Animal Kingdom doesn’t have as many holiday festivities as some of the other parks. Don’t lose heart! If you’re visiting Animal Kingdom during your upcoming vacay there’s still lots to keep the yuletide rolling! So, let’s dive right in and learn everything you need to know about Christmas at Animal Kingdom.

Holiday Décor
From Discovery Island to Dino-Land you’ll find each land decorated with festive lights and holiday decorations representing the way that country celebrates the season. Visit Asia and experience the celebration of Diwali—the festival of lights in India. Then make your way to Africa where you’ll find a blend of Western holiday traditions mixed with touches of Africa. Bet you’ve never spent Christmas in Pandora! If not, you can head to Pongu Pongu and see handcrafted holiday materials indigenous to Pandora along with vintage pieces from Earth.
Things to Do
Donald’s Dino Bash- See Donald and all his pals decked out in their holiday digs! This is a must do stop if you’re in Animal Kingdom this holiday season. What’s Christmas without a pic with Donald Duck?!?!
Holiday Hoopla Dance Party- If you’re ready to get your dance on, make a night of it and head to the Truck-O-Saurus for the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party! They’ll be fun games for the whole family to enjoy and get ready for cute overload…. Chip and Dale are not only dressed in their adorable dinosaur costumes, they have a Christmas costumes on top of them!!!
Holiday Meet-N-Greets- Continuing on with our cute characters in Christmas costumes theme, lets head to Discovery Island to see Russell and Doug all ready for Christmas. Last but not least, no Disney Christmas photo album is complete without a pic of the mouse himself, and you know Minnie is my favorite! Head to Adventurers Outpost to pose with our favorite Disney couple all dressed up in their Christmas best.
Tree of Life Awakenings- 30 minutes after nightfall until park closing see the night come alive with a series of wintry tales and heartwarming music. Albeit short, this projections show and it’s magical musical accompaniment are not to be missed!
Merry Menagerie- in Discovery Land be on the lookout for life-sized artisan sculpted reindeer, fox, and polar bear puppets. These puppets equipped with human operators are much like those featured at Finding Nemo: The Musical. Live music accompanies the merry band of animals as they parade their way through Discovery Land interacting with park guests.
Well that will do it for this installment! Now you have everything you need to know about Christmas at Magic Kingdom. While there may not be tons to do like some of the other parks, there is still lots of holiday spirit to not be missed at Animal Kingdom this year!

Thanks for stopping by!
We really enjoyed Yak & Yeti and the loaded mac and cheese. We grabbed dinner at Flame Tree and ate on the pavilion and could see Rivers of Light from there which was nice!
Wow! That sound like the perfect AK day!!!
